Rest in Peace, Bill

  • Peter W.

It's with a heavy heart that we learned that one of our members, William Richard Voorvaart, better known at our museum as Bill, passed away on September 5th, not long after railroad day. A long time member of our museum, he helped to restore our much loved railbus to it's current excellent condition, and would always jump at the chance to give visitors a ride on his favorite piece at the museum. He was present at our most recent railroad day, running the bus for the duration of the event. Bill had also been involved with the restoration of the Milldale depot train order signal in Southington. Bill was generous with his time and talent at the museum as is clear in the fruits of his labor, and I know I speak for all of when I say that he leaves big shoes for us all to fill. Our deepest condolences go to his family for their loss. We also would like to extend our gratitude for the time we shared with Bill at the museum.
